Embroidery Basics :: Sampler and Pattern

3 Tuesday sessions :: February 18, 25 and March 4

Learn the fundamentals of modern hand embroidery

In this workshop series, you will learn all about embroidery, from selecting materials to discovering ways to express your unique stitch style.  There will be opportunities to learn, practice and apply at least five different stitches and gain confidence to produce inspiring embroidery projects.

Day 1

In our first meeting, you’ll learn all about materials, how to get started, and the most common and useful stitches.  You’ll begin making a sampler or stitch reference and get comfortable working with a needle and thread.  

Materials provided: embroidery hoop, needles, needle threader, scissors, variety of floss, cloth, stitch guide

Kits available for sale 

Day 2

The second meeting introduces more advanced stitches.  You’ll have the option to continue practicing new stitching skills on a sampler or begin creating a beautiful design.

Materials provided: a variety of floral & boho images to stitch 

Option to bring: your own design, fabric (tote bag/ jeans/ apron/ tea towel etc)

 Day 3 (bonus day included in your registration fees. $30 for drop-ins)

The final meeting is an opportunity to gather, ask questions, re-boot and commit to finishing your project.
